Who is more complicated than than four-handed canasta? What should this clause modify?
Not the strategy but the game "three-handed canasta" itself. Out A, C and D
We're left with:
(B) three-handed canasta has a more challenging strategy that makes it more popular with experienced card players than
(E) three-handed canasta has a more challenging strategy making it more popular with experienced card players than with
The red parts are errors. "a more challenging strategy making " is wrong, and "with" is also wrong.
Let me rephrase E: "(E) three-handed canasta has a more challenging strategy making it more popular with experienced card players than with the other versions of the game"
This says that 3-handed canasta is more popular with exprerienced players than with the other version... does not make sense.

The clause should modify another game i.e. three-handed canasta. So, eliminate A,C,D
(E) - Here, three-handed canasta is compared to other versions of the game. But by the placement of "with" in the last, experienced card players are compared to other versions of game. So, wrong.
Hence, B.
