SC TIP - Having + ed construction!
In general, having + ed construction is used to indicate an action that is completed before the main action that is done by the modified noun and provides context for the main action
Example – Having lived in India for 5 years, Mark appreciates the Indian culture.
In the above sentence the modified noun is “Mark” and the main action is “appreciates the Indian culture”.
Please note that “Having lived in India” was completed in the past and also provides the reason why Mark appreciates the Indian culture.
